Introduction: The Four Lenses and The Four Lenses in Action (pages xvii-xix) Recap
  • The book has two sections:
    • Chapters 1 through 4 are about the protocol the authors developed for evaluating false information, the Four Lenses. These chapters provide guidance for how to use these lenses and include resources and mini-lessons.
    • The second section is made up of grade level unit plans with tools and resources to help readers implement them in the classsroom.
  • The Four Lenses:  
    • the Trigger Lens 
    • the Access Lens
    • the Forensics Lens
    • the Motives Lens
  • The book challenges the current practice for teaching information literacy and offers a new perspectve. It also offers strategies and resources. 
  • Practices in the book align to the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Standards for Students.
