Author // Emily Rozmus Monday, 26 September 2016

It's autumn—cooler temperatures, shorter days, crisper air, and yes, runnier noses. It's a great time to teach your little learners about the change of seasons and how they affect the world around them. Check out these resources and tips from INFOhio to help teach your PreK-3 students about autumn.

Early Learning Portal

INFOhio's Early Learning Portal has more than 50 websites and apps aligned to Ohio's Early Learning Standards. Each resource has been selected by a teacher or librarian, and evaluated with a rubric to ensure the best websites and apps for early learners are available all in one spot. Check out Unite for Literacy, a collection of free nonfiction eBooks on a variety of topics and in a variety of languages, in the Reading resources.

BookFlix

Watch Fletcher and the Falling Leaves and How Do you Know it's Fall?

Then, do the Puzzlers together as a class - Word Match for vocabulary, Fact or Fiction, and Which Came First for sequencing. Finally, browse through the Explore the Web tab to find printables, fall leaf animations, and more games to play with the students.

World Book Early Learning

Then, go to Print and Do to find a fun activity. Print mazes and connect the dot activities for little learners to practice coloring and counting.
