• This chapter prepares readers for the remaining chapters with unit plans educators can implement.
• The unit plans are framed as cases to be solved. Learners must create and answer questions to solve the mystery. The bigger goal is for students to apply these lessons to their own lives and well-being.
• A similar structure is used for the units across the grade levels. This structure is based on knowledge about how humans consume and process information.
• Step 1 is a case one-sheet.  This visual resource helps learners activate prior knowledge related to the case. 
• Step 2 is the case file. This includes links to other resources that will help create a hypothesis. Other resources include the Digital Detective's Notebook and Toolbox.
